Sometimes a miscommunication feels like it came out of left field… but often it’s because we haven’t laid the necessary groundwork to understand each other clearly. Set yourself up for more success by learning your peer’s way to process (Do they look through a very strategic lens? Are they very risk adverse? What filters do they naturally put on the world?), priorities (What are they focused on?), and best form of communication (verbal, visual, written, etc…). Working with these tools helps to define where you may each have blindspots, and opens up the opportunity for clarification!
